Whispering Winds Ranch is located on the front range of the Rocky Mountains south of Denver CO. We live on 35 acres with 21 alpacas, 2 llamas, 2 horses, 2 dogs and 4 cats.
We began researching alpacas after a friend gave us some flyers she had picked up at a small alpaca event. We spent the next year and a half attending shows, farm days and meetings to learn more about alpacas. We both knew this was the investment we would like to pursue. Then we started visiting farms with alpacas for sale. After deciding on a few bred females and having them delivered to us several months later, we realized just how wonderful these animals really were. They are personable, quiet and gentle. They have the most luxurious fiber in the world. It comes in 22 natural colors and can also be dyed. The first yarn we had processed from our animals just amazed me, it was so soft and beautiful.
We believe that owning alpacas is a great way to live. Our friends who own alpacas are the nicest most helpful people we have ever met. We have no regrets and hope to continue in this business for many years to come.
